Bali Blue is one of our favorite medium dark roasts with a delicious profile of dark chocolate, molasses and brown sugar. This outstanding coffee is grown by smallholder farmers in the Kintamani-region, a highland area in the north of East Bali, Indonesia, and is certified organic. Contributing to its rich flavor palette is the process whereby our beans are handpicked and wet-hulled and dried on raised beds.
Indonesian coffee is becoming increasingly popular, mainly due to the island-wide coffee growing campaign by the Balinese government, an initiative that came to fruition in the early 1960's after a devastating volcano blast. There are more than 7,000 hectares of organic coffee growing farmland in Bali, Indonesia. It is illegal to use pesticides and chemicals on any of the crops.
